Well I've finally realised I've turned into a horrible moaning bastard recently, so I'm going to stop now and start looking on the bright side of everything instead :-)

I've never drunk enough to not remember things in the morning. I have now. It's horrible to have the feeling that you've lost a complete hour of your life, fortunately I was just being maudlin and a little silly, nothing too embarassing. But I think I'll steer clear of booze for a couple of weeks.

It's amazing how much a horrible flat could cost. I looked at one last night, horrible flat, horrible location, horrible price.

Aw crap. Why do I have to work for a company that doesn't do promotions but instead has interviews for every single position. I hate interviews. Needless to say I didn't get my job, and I mean my job, I've been doing it for a year as an attachment and I had to have an interview to make it perminent. There were two perminent positions and a six month attachment, I got the six month attachment, which means I have to do another interview in six months for it again. I am so pissed off. I would have got it if I didn't have to do an interview, lets ignore the fact that he's been doing it for a year and instead base it solely on what he can say in one hour. Stupid system.

A nervous young man came up to me, accompanied by his mother. He looked at me and said nothing, in a kind of a panic. His mother announced, "Simon wants to be a writer."
"Oh good," I said.
"And what Simon wants to know most," continued Simon's Mother, "Is, is there a lot of job-security as a writer?"
"Ah," I said. "You want hotel management. That's in the main hall."
"Very good," she said. And she went away and took Simon with her. - Neil Gaimen

So I made my first offer on a house today, it ended up going for a £1,000 more than the asking price, which was a little too rich for me, seeing as I'd have had to spend at least another three grand getting it just right, but it was certainly an experience and I know what to expect now. The scariest thing is you have to make a lifetime decision about spending the most money you've ever spent in under 24hrs, because otherwise the place is gone. That's just scary.

So I've got to move house on the 18th April, I may or may not have written that here yet, but if I have I've said it again. I've got fed up with renting so I'm looking to buy, which is certainly a very scary prospect, but at least I've finally found an area of London that I migth quite like to live in and, this is the important bit, that I can afford to live in too. I wont say where yet as I don't want to jinx it, but it feels right.

The archives are back, although anything I've said in the past was what I was about how I was feeling then and bares no relation to now. In other words read them at your own risk ;-)

I've changed my front page picture again, and that's pretty much how I look at the moment, hopefully not as evil looking as some of my past pictures ;-) Admittedly it'll probably be too dark as my laptop screen isn't always the best indicator.

So I went to a party in Bournemouth at the weekend, don't think I made too much of a fool of myself but I did drink a little too much.

Needless to say I was very drunk when I wrote the last one. It did end up a very random evening though. It started with going to the BBC bar straight after work at 6.30pm, chatting to friends and drinking lots, then going for a curry with some of them. At 11pm I started to make my way home and jumped on the first tube that came along, four stops down the line a rather drunk girl gets on and sits opposite me and we start, well the only way to put it is flirting with each other. Somehow we managed to end up daring each other to go for a drink, which we do at the next stop South Kensington. A bottle of wine and lots of conversation later and we know enough about each other to know that we're completely different entirely unsuited people. And with a parting kiss we made our separate ways home at 12.30 in the morning.
Every now and then I make eye contact with people on the tube and we end up doing the pretending not to look at each other and smiling when catching the other looking at you thing, and I've often wondered what'd happen if I just asked them for a drink, well this time it happened. It's weird no one talks to anyone on the tube, and I've never understood why, I still don't just look at the strange fun you can have if you do :-)

Trouble with going out clubbing on my own is I get fed up with my own company. Shame my friends gave up clubbing and got other halves instead.

Beer happy mood, vodka mixers bad mood. I'll have to stick to the beer then, even though it makes me fat, I suppose I'll just have to drink less then ;-)

Everyone has a favourite TV series of all time, mine happens to be My So-Called Life, well I've just discovered they're releasing it on DVD as a limited edition region 0 box set, but you have to pre-order it here as they're only making as many as are ordered. Needless to say I have.
