So that was 2001 was it? Actually it was really good. I've made lots of new friends and only lost contact with a few old ones. I'm enjoying work again and still haven't had to move house. What will 2002 bring?

Harry Potter, the film, looks great, awful script. Never before have I seen a film that basically requires you to have read the book in order to care and understand about the characters and the story. It was all wrong, I mean Harry lives under the stairs, but he didn't seem unhappy about it, in fact his mood didn't change one jot when he arrived at hogwarts. And they covered everything in the first book (which is the worse book), but not enough detail for it to make any sense. Your meant to adapt a book for the screen not just use the whole book. What I would have done to begin with.
Open on fight between Voldemort and Harry's Parents. Harry survives and is taken by Hagrid to Live with hideous Aunt and Uncle. 10 years later, Harry is visably unhappy, miserable in fact.
You've introduced the big bad enemy right at the begining, and you know harry is unhappy with his life. Later you have to show Snape as a far more suspicous character than just looking odd, and give Harry a reason to dislike him, in the film it felt like he didn't have a reason. You've also got to show the stuttering professor Quirrell more...
..oh it was just an awful film which I could've written better and had on screen for a shorter amount of time. The only good thing was it looked fantastic visually, it's just a shame about the script.

I've just got hold of the DVD Bootleg cut of Almost Famous, I love this film, it's right up there in my top 3 all time best films, and extra bits really add, but only if you've seen the original version first, as after watching that I wanted more, and the longer film gives you that little bit more, which might not make it such a good film to watch first time. I'm sure that kinda makes sense.
