It's another one of those Thursday things already, which I have to say came around very quickly indeed. Still can't get the hang of them though ;-)

It's a bank holiday (holiday weekend), so where I am? At work of course, still at least it's fairly quiet today.

Well that was a good night. Went out clubbing with Mark, Peta, Lou and Ash, danced lots, drank lots, got lots of text messages from Julie, and finally got home at 4.30am. I'm a little tired now to say the least ;-)

I've just heard the oddest dance record, it speeds up and slows down for no musical reason whatsoever. It's very disconcerting because at first you refuse to believe it's doing it, and then you realise it is and it's just very unpleasant to listen to. I must remember never to do that with my music.

Yet again work interferes with my social life. I've been invited to go on holiday in September with a group of friends, some who I know very well, others who I just know in passing, unfortunately, two people at work have already booked that bit of time off and it's highly unlikely I'll be able to get the time off as well. Seeing as I'm not too keen on holidaying alone, it's looking unlikely that I'll get out of the country at all this year. Still you never know what's around the corner or over the horizon.

Well it was a good gig, although the sound balance was awful, but what can you do eh? Well seeing as I am a sound engineer mix the damn thing myself, but that wasn't really an option. Well I say it was a good gig but that's not entirely true, Marillion were good but the audience were rubbish, they were one of the most unrhymical, and quiet audiences I've seen since well er Neil Finn (which was two weeks ago and free! so doesn't count). Just before the encore we were told that the whole thing was being recorded by Dave Meegan for a live album and they suddenly became a bit more noisy for about one song, so somehow I don't think they'll use much of it.

The best gig I've been to in five years was Snowpatrol at the Garage in April, the band were fantastic, so were the crowd ;-)

My sister and I are going to see Marillion tonight. It's about the 20th time in my life I've seen them play live. In 1990 I remember my mum and dad dropping me off just outside Wembley arena to go and see my first gig. It was a great experience, they were my favourite band and they played all the songs I wanted to hear. Eleven years later they're still going, and I still enjoy their concerts, so they must be doing something right ;-)

Well the weather was beautiful at the weekend... but the mood was sad and meloncholic. Douglas Adams died on Friday evening, his writing has been one of the biggest influences on my life. The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy radio comedy got me wanting to work in radio and play with sound, the book was the first proper book I ever met, and when I first got on the internet his name was one of the first I looked up on a search engine, and I discovered some of my bestest friends through the sites I found.

Douglas was a radical atheist, it just makes me wonder that if there is a god, he'll be having a good laugh with her... 'I refuse to prove that I exist' say's god 'for proof denies faith and without faith I am nothing'. 'But' says Douglas 'the Babel fish is a dead give away it proves you exist and therefore you don't Q.E.D'. 'Yes but you invented the Babel fish' says god. 'Ah hadn't thought of that' says Douglas and promptly laughs very loudly, with god joining in. ;-)

I'll miss him, but I'll still laugh everytime I hear one of his jokes.

It's Wednesday but strangely also Friday isn't that fun :-)

Bad mood yesterday, good mood today, no particular reason for either one, it's a funny old life.

So where was I? Oh yes nowhere. Well it's been an odd day for London and life today, I have a cold and London is full of police, the connection, well we're both congested ;-) Yes I know an appauling attempt at humour but it's the best I can do, no honestly it is.
